1329.03 HEATING AND/OR AIR CONDITIONING PERMITS.

   (a)    No person shall commence or proceed with the installation, alteration, replacement or addition to any heating and/or air conditioning system, or part thereof, in any building in the City until application has been made for a heating and/or air conditioning permit, nor until such plans, specifications and other information as may be required by the Heating and Air Conditioning Inspector for the proper enforcement of the provisions of this Building Code pertaining to heating and/or air conditioning have been filed with such Inspector and the heating and/or air conditioning permit applied for has been issued by him.

   (b)    Separate permits shall be required for the installation, alteration, replacement or addition of electric heating strips and electric heating cable, in any building in the City. The permit shall not be issued until the BTU heating loss calculations have been provided to the Department of Building and Zoning Inspection. On all new construction of residential structures, whether single or multi-family, R-values of insulation shall be additionally required to be furnished showing R-value of not less than R-19 on the ceilings and R-11 on sidewalls.

   (c)    No electrical permit shall include the authorization to perform plumbing or duct work except for electric raceways or conduits.
