1309.15 EMERGENCY WORK.
   (a)    Building, Electric. Emergency work may be performed without first securing a permit, provided the Building Department is notified of such emergency work not more than two hours after the beginning of the first working day following such emergency and provided, further, that the necessary permit for such work is then secured.

   (b)    Heating, Air Conditioning, Plumbing. Emergency work for minor repairs only, under one hundred dollars ($100.00) may be performed at any time, by a licensed contractor. Work under a valuation of fifty dollars ($50.00) does not require a permit but must be done by a licensed contractor. Work of a valuation over fifty dollars ($50.00) requires a permit within two hours after the beginning of the first working day following the emergency. No work of a valuation over one hundred dollars ($100.00) may be performed and/or no heating equipment can be disconnected, dismantled, removed or replaced until the licensed contractor has first secured the approval of the City inspector in charge. This means all hot air furnaces and heating boilers must be tested in the presence of the City inspector in charge before being condemned. A permit for work of a valuation over one hundred dollars ($100.00) shall be secured within the two hours of the first working day following the emergency.
