555.02 MAXIMUM SPEED AND HORSEPOWER ON CUYAHOGA RIVER.
   (a)   No person shall operate any watercraft in or upon the Cuyahoga River within the City limits at greater than idle speed or in such a manner that it causes a wake.
 
   (b)   No person, being the owner, shall operate or permit to be operated in or upon the Cuyahoga River within the City limits any watercraft equipped with a motor rated in excess of ten horsepower.
 
   (c)   For purposes of this section, “idle speed” means the slowest possible speed needed to maintain steerage or maneuverability and “wake” shall mean a track left by a watercraft in the water causing waves that may cause discomfort, injury or damage to persons, watercraft or property.
 
   (d)   This section shall not apply to any law enforcement officer acting within the scope of his duties.
 
   (e)   This section shall not apply to any watercraft owned and operated by the State of Ohio, the City of Cuyahoga Falls or any other political subdivisions of the State.
 
   (f)   Whoever violates this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor.
