522.99 VIOLATIONS AND PENALTIES.
   (a)   It shall be unlawful for any person to smoke or possess lighted smoking material in any area restricted by the provisions of this chapter.
   (b)   Any person who violates any provision of this chapter, other than Section 522.07 , is guilty of a minor misdemeanor. Any person who violates Section 522.07 is guilty of illegal distribution of cigarettes or other tobacco products, a misdemeanor of the fourth degree. If the offender previously has been convicted of a violation of Section 522.07 , then illegal distribution of cigarettes or other tobacco products is a misdemeanor of the third degree.
   (c)   Each day on which a violation of any provision of this chapter occurs is a separate and distinct offense and shall be punishable as such.
