516.01 DEFINITIONS.
For the purposes of this chapter only, the following terms, phrases, words and their derivations have the meaning given herein.
(a) "Minor" means any person under the age of eighteen years or any person seventeen or less years of age.
(b) "Parent" means any person having legal and physical custody of a minor:
(1) As a natural or adoptive parent,
(2) As a legal guardian,
(3) As a person who stands in loco parentis, or
(4) As a person to whom legal and physical custody has been given by order of court.
(c) "Public place" means any street, highway, alley or right of way, to include sidewalks, any park, playground, ground, place or building open to the public; any privately or publicly owned place of amusement, entertainment or public accommodation, to including parking lots and any other areas adjacent thereto; and any vacant lot or land or, without the consent of the owner, any private property.
(d) "Responsible Parent" means a person who, as a Parent, is subject to the duty imposed by Section 516.04(a) on the date and time that the Parent's minor child is found in violation of the curfew hours established in this section.
(e) "Special Curfew Area" shall mean the area bounded by the following known landmarks: Beginning at the Cuyahoga River at the easterly extension of Oakwood Avenue, then west to 4th Street, south to Stow Avenue, east to 2nd Street, south to Broad Blvd., east along Broad Blvd. to its intersection with the Cuyahoga River, then north along said river to the place of beginning, inclusive of all mentioned public rights-of-way.
(f) "Time of night", is based upon the prevailing standard of time, generally observed at that hour by the public in the City, prima facie the time then observed in the City Administrative Offices and Police Station.
(g) "Year of age" continues from one birthday, such as the seventeenth, to but not including the day of the next, such as the eighteenth birthday.
