505.19 RABIES VACCINATION.

   (a)   Every person owning, keeping, possessing, harboring, maintaining or having the care, custody or control of a dog or cat shall have the dog or cat vaccinated against rabies by a licensed veterinarian at least once every three years. Failure of any dog or cat to wear the rabies vaccination tag issued by the licensed veterinarian who administered the vaccine shall be prima facie evidence, which the owner may rebut with proof of proper vaccination, of the dog’s or cat’s lack of vaccination against rabies.

   (b)   Whoever violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree.
