The City Judge, with the concurrence of the Police Chief, may, at his or her discretion, adopt a Safe Driver's Program as an alternative to appearing in City Court for minor traffic violations. The cost of the program shall be set by the City Judge, not to exceed $50. This program shall be open only to those individuals receiving their first traffic offenses within a three-year period in the corporate limits of the city. An operations policy shall be written by the Police Chief for approval by the City Judge and the City Council prior to enactment.
