6-12-4: PUBLIC PARKWAYS:
   A.   A parkway shall be maintained by the adjacent property owner or commercial property tenant or owner. This includes front, side and rear parkways where appropriate.
   B.   Trees are not allowed to be planted in a residential public parkway other than by the City of Countryside.
   C.   Any landscaping in the parkway (other than trees planted by the City or approved in a landscape plan) shall not grow taller than three (3) feet.
   D.   No landscaping taller than two (2) feet shall be located within six (6) feet of fire hydrants or buffalo boxes.
   E.   The use of loose stone, rock or gravel is prohibited in public parkways. Large rocks or stones are not permitted on parkways, especially street corner parkways. Compacted cobbles, flagstone or other rocks may be approved by the building official and City Engineer, with appropriate plans submitted, if these features are firmly in the ground of mortared and do not interfere with utilities, fire hydrants or buffalo boxes.
   F.   Property owners are responsible to repair and replace any and all areas damaged by seasonal snow removal within one growing season of the damage. (Ord. 22-44-O, 12-14-2022)
