6-12-2: GRASS AND WEEDS:
   A.   Height; Grass And Weeds: It shall be unlawful and constitute a public nuisance for any person who owns or controls any real estate to permit grass or weeds, other than trees, bushes, flowers, or other ornamental plants, to grow on such real estate or on the parkways contiguous to such real estate to a height of eight inches (8") or more. Any person who owns or controls any real estate where grass or weeds have grown to a height of eight inches (8") or more shall cut, trim or remove, or cause the grass or weeds to be cut, trimmed or removed, within forty-eight (48) hours after being notified to do so by the building official or the code enforcement officer of the City. Any person who owns or controls real estate which is contiguous to a parkway where grass or weeds have grown to a height of eight inches (8") or more shall cut, trim or remove, or cause the grass or weeds to be cut, trimmed or removed, within ten (10) days after being notified to do so by the Building Official or the code enforcement officer of the City.
   B.   Any weeds, such as jimson, burdock, ragweed, thistle, cocklebur, or other weeds of a like kind, found growing in any lot or tract of land within the City are declared to be a nuisance, and it shall be unlawful to permit any such weeds to grow or remain in any such place.
   C.   To permit weeds or other underbrush to grow to a height of eight inches (8") or more and any person who owns or controls any premises who tolerates or permits the growth of weeds or underbrush to eight inches (8") or more thereon shall cut or cause the same to be cut within forty-eight (48) hours after being notified to do so by the building official or code enforcement officer.
   D.   Vacant/Undeveloped Parcels: Any tract of real estate that does not exceed five (5) acres shall not allow grass or weeds to exceed eight inches (8") in height. If a vacant/underdeveloped tract of real estate exceeds five (5) acres the person in ownership of the property shall not allow the grass or weeds to exceed eight inches (8") in height for thirty (30) feet of the entire perimeter of said real estate.
   E.   Removal Of Dead Grass/Brush: If grass or weeds were allowed to exceed the eight inches (8"), the once cut dead grass/brush must be caught by the lawn equipment or raked and removed; so as not to allow excessive dead/grass weeds to become odiferous, unsightly and/or attract pests.
