6-2-1: MINIMUM HEAT REQUIREMENT 1 :
   A.   Definitions: Notwithstanding any provisions of this code to the contrary, the term "rental dwelling unit", as used herein, shall mean any structure or room, or set of rooms within a structure, intended as a unit for human habitation and use, including sleeping, for any period of time whatsoever, and for the use of which the owner charges any rent. "Rental dwelling units" shall include, but not be limited to, dwelling units within a hotel, motel, rooming house, boarding house, apartment house or other multi-unit building. They shall not, however, include owner occupied dwelling units. (1970 Code §12-9.01)
   B.   Minimum Temperatures Required: The minimum temperature in any rental dwelling unit within the city between September 15 and June 1, and during the times hereinafter set forth, shall be as follows:

   C.   Responsibility Of Owner: The owner, or in the case of trusts, the beneficial owner, shall be responsible for compliance with the requirements of this section. (1970 Code §12-9.03)
   D.   Penalty: Violation of this section shall be punishable as provided by section 1-4-1 of this code. (1970 Code §12-9.04)
