A. The city will provide coverage for a retired officer, other than a desk officer, after twenty (20) years' or more service at age fifty five (55) or older, at fifty percent (50%) of the premium.
B. If an officer, other than a desk officer, has twenty (20) years' service and retires before he reaches fifty five (55) years of age, he has the option of keeping his coverage. The city will carry him on its plan, and the retiree will reimburse the city for his premiums.
C. Desk officers shall be covered by insurance and retirement benefits provided through the Illinois municipal retirement fund. (1970 Code §3-1-13.7, as amended)
