It is unlawful for any person or other entity to engage in or carry on any business activity operated for profit within the city, and regulated under provisions of this code, without first having obtained a license from the city so to do. (1970 Code §8-0.09)
All business licenses required under this code shall expire December 31 next after issuance, unless sooner revoked by the mayor or mayor and/or council, whichever is applicable, or unless issued for a period expiring prior to that date. (1970 Code §8-0.14)
