6-2-4: SCENE OF FIRE:
   A.   Driving Over Fire Hose:
      1.   It shall be unlawful for any person within the corporate limits of the city to drive, move or operate any vehicle over, upon or across any line of fire hose which shall have been run or laid along, upon or across any street, alley or road within the city, or to in any manner injure or destroy any such fire hose.       2.   Any person violating the provisions of subsection A1 of this section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punishable as provided in section 1-4-1 of this code and, in addition, may be required to pay the damages occasioned by such unlawful act for collection of which civil action may be prosecuted in behalf of the city.
   B.   Authority To Close Roadways: The county sheriff's department, public works supervisor, fire chief, mayor and any city council member, or other person in charge of any line of fire hose laid down on any street, alley or road within the city for the purpose of fighting fire, or for any other purpose, is hereby empowered to close any such street, alley or road to all vehicular traffic when a fire hose is in use, and it shall be unlawful for any person to drive or operate any vehicles upon or across such street, alley or road while so closed to traffic. A violation of this subsection shall be a misdemeanor punishable as provided in section 1-4-1 of this code. (Ord. 92, 8-4-1936; amd. 2015 Code)
