A. Qualifications: Any person shall be eligible to hold the Office of Mayor who is a qualified elector of the City at the time of his declaration of candidacy or declaration of intent is submitted to the City Council and remains a qualified elector during his term of office.
B. Elected Official; Term Of Office: The Mayor is an elected official, and his term of office shall be a period of four (4) years.
C. Powers And Duties: The Mayor shall be the chief administrative official of the City and shall preside over all meetings of the City Council and shall possess such powers and discharge such duties as are prescribed by the laws of the State.
D. Absence Of Mayor: In the Mayor's absence, the Council President will assume the Mayor's duties. (2015 Code)
