Every person driving a vehicle of any kind which strikes or hits any person or another vehicle shall stop such vehicle at once and render such assistance as he or she can, give his or her name, post office address, license number and serial number of his or her vehicle to the other person or driver. He or she shall assist in calling for assistance and shall remain at the scene until an officer arrives.
