§ 14.704  SAME; CARRYING KNIVES.
   a.   1.   It shall be unlawful for any person to carry about his or her person, whether concealed or not, any dirk, slingshot, metal knuckles, razor or other weapon usually used for the infliction of personal injury or injuries.
      2.   This section shall not apply to peace officers while in the discharge of their duties.
   b.   It shall be unlawful for any person within the town to possess or conceal upon his or her person any knife, measuring seven inches or greater in length either when opened or unopened, or any switchblade knife.
   c.   It shall be unlawful for any person to sell, offer for sale or possess a switchblade knife within the town.
      1.   For the purposes of this section, the term SWITCHBLADE KNIFE shall mean any knife having a blade which opens automatically, by hand pressure applied to a button or other device in the handle of the knife, by operation or inertia, gravity or both.
      2.   This section does not apply to pocket knives which, when open, do not exceed five and one- half inches in overall length.
