There shall be imposed, in addition to ad valorem taxes, upon each person, business, partnership, corporation, profession, trade, or otherwise, before he or it may engage in, solicit, or in any way enter into a business, trade, or profession within the city limits for commercial purposes, an occupation tax in an amount set out. hereinafter for each separate business as listed. For the purpose of operating such business, trade, or profession, application must be submitted to the City Clerk for a permit therefor, accompanied by the amount of money listed in § 110.13 as applicable.
