(a) Any tree growing on private property and so located as to extend its branches over a public street, highway, sidewalk, park or other public place, or so located as to become a traffic or pedestrian hazard, including the obstruction of a traffic control device, sign or signal, or exceed the minimum clearance requirements, shall be trimmed or removed as allowed for under 917.16. The property owner on whose property the tree stands, pursuant to written notice as prescribed in Section 917.11, shall be responsible for any trimming required on the private side of the property line.
(b) If the work is not satisfactorily completed as described in the notice, then the Department or a designated City agent may seek relief as prescribed in Section 917.13(d).
