Storm Water Drainage/Detention Facilities
Operation and Maintenance Regulations
Storm water drainage/detention facilities will be maintained by the property owner(s) or their heirs or assigns. Property owner(s) will be responsible for facility maintenance, on owner's land, until such facility is connected to an approved storm water facility within a public right-of-way or easement.
Operation and maintenance of storm water drainage/detention facilities shall be as follows:
   Catch Basins:
      Inspect catch basins 2 (two) times per year, preferably Spring and Fall.
      Remove any accumulated debris from grates and sumps and legally dispose of.
      Inspect catch basin interior to ensure conduits are not blocked and conduits are mortared into structure, repair as necessary.
      Do not use catch basins as disposal areas for yard waste, leaves, oils, or any chemical waste.
   Culverts:
      Inspect culverts 2 (two) times per year, preferably Spring and Fall.
      Remove any obstructions, debris, or accumulated sediment and legally dispose of.
      Repair any erosion damage at the inlet and outlet of the culvert.
   Surface Detention Facility:
      Inspect facility 3 (three) times per year, Spring, Summer and Fall, or after any rain event of 1 inch per a 24 hour period.
      Mow earthen/vegetated facilities and spillways a minimum of once each month during the growing season.
      Inspect slopes for signs of erosion, settlement or seepage.
