ARTICLE V
MAYOR
SECTION 5.01 TERM.
   The Mayor shall be elected at the general election in the year 1973 and every four years thereafter. His term shall commence on the first day of January following his election and expire on the last day in December four (4) years hence.

SECTION 5.02 JUDICIAL POWERS.
   The Mayor shall have jurisdiction in civil and criminal cases as provided by the laws of Ohio, including all statutes now or hereafter enacted, until such jurisdiction is placed elsewhere by law.
SECTION 5.03 LEGISLATIVE POWERS.
   The Mayor shall preside at all meetings of Council but shall have no vote therein except in case of a tie vote. He shall be considered a member of Council when so voting.
SECTION 5.04 OTHER POWERS.
   The Mayor shall be recognized as the official head of the Municipality for all ceremonial purposes, by the Governor for military purposes, and by the courts for the purpose of serving civil process.
