§ 72.01 PARKING WITHIN LINES DELINEATING PARKING SPACE.
   On any street which is marked off with lines indicating the parking spaces for vehicles, vehicles shall be parked between the lines and within spaces indicated for parking. This section shall not be construed to apply to parking meter spaces in designated parking meter zones.

§ 72.02 VEHICLES BACKED UP TO CURB.
   It shall be unlawful for any person to permit or allow a vehicle to remain backed up to the curb or curb line, except when actually loading or unloading.

§ 72.03 STANDING OR PARKING CLOSE TO CURB.
   No person shall stand or park a vehicle in a roadway other than parallel to the edge of the roadway headed in the direction of lawful traffic movement and with the right-hand wheels of the vehicle within 18 inches of the curb or edge of the roadway, except as otherwise provided in this subchapter.

§ 72.04 SIGNS OR MARKINGS INDICATING ANGLE PARKING.
   (A)   The Board shall determine upon what streets angle parking shall be permitted and shall mark or sign the streets, which, if any, shall be set forth in Chapter 75.
   (B)   Angle parking shall not be indicated or permitted at any place where passing traffic would thereby be caused or required to drive upon the left side of the street.

§ 72.05 OBEDIENCE TO ANGLE PARKING SIGNS OR MARKINGS.
   Upon those streets which have been signed or marked for angle parking, no person shall park or stand a vehicle other than at the angle to the curb or edge of the roadway indicated by the signs or markings.

§ 72.06 LIGHTS ON PARKED VEHICLES.
   (A)   Whenever a vehicle is lawfully parked at nighttime upon any street or residence district, no lights need be displayed upon the parked vehicle.
   (B)   Whenever a vehicle is parked upon a street or highway outside of a residence district during the hours between one-half hour after sunset and one-half hour before sunrise, the vehicle shall be equipped with one or more lamps which shall exhibit a white light on the roadway side visible from a distance of 500 feet to the front of the vehicle and a red light visible from a distance of 500 feet to the rear.
   (C)   Any lighted headlamps upon a parked vehicle shall be depressed or dimmed.

STOPPING, STANDING OR PARKING PROHIBITED IN SPECIFIED PLACES
§ 72.20 STOPPING, STANDING OR PARKING PROHIBITED; NO SIGNS REQUIRED.
   (A)   No person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with law or the directions of a police officer or traffic-control device, in any of the following places:
      (1)   On a sidewalk;
      (2)   In front of a public or private driveway;
      (3)   Within an intersection;
      (4)   Within 15 feet of a fire hydrant;
      (5)   On a crosswalk;
      (6)   Within 20 feet of a crosswalk at an intersection;
      (7)   Within 30 feet upon the approach to any flashing beacon, stop sign or traffic-control signal located at the side of a roadway;
      (8)   Between a safety zone and the adjacent curb or within 30 feet of points on the curb immediately opposite the ends of a safety zone, unless signs or markings indicate a different length;
      (9)   Within 50 feet of the nearest rail of a railroad crossing;
      (10)   Within 20 feet of the driveway entrance to any fire station on the side of a street opposite the entrance to any fire station, within 75 feet of the entrance (when properly signposted);
      (11)   Alongside or opposite any street excavation or obstruction when stopping, standing or parking would obstruct traffic;
      (12)   On a roadway side of any vehicle stopped or parked at the edge or curb of a street;
      (13)   Upon any bridge or other elevated structure upon a highway or within a highway tunnel; and
      (14)   At any place where official signs prohibit stopping.
   (B)   No person shall move a vehicle not lawfully under his or her control into any prohibited area or away from a curb a distance as is unlawful.
