The fee collected pursuant to this subchapter shall be used to defray the expense of employing a special inspector or inspectors who shall remain on the premises upon which the auction sale is conducted during all times the sale is open for business. The Special Inspectors shall be specially appointed for each auction by the town and so far as possible shall be regularly employed police officers. They shall have the power and duty to supervise the auction to ensure compliance with the provisions of this subchapter and the laws of the State of New Mexico. The inspectors shall have the authority to make arrests for violations.
