No person shall tamper with, alter, remove or vandalize any water meter or fire hydrant of the Clarksburg Water Board or of any utility or city. No person shall interfere with any employee of the Clarksburg Water Board in exercising his/her rights to inspect any water meter or water line or fire hydrant.
The Clarksburg Water Board may also remove any obstruction to any water meter, water line, or fire hydrant immediately if there is an emergency; and after three days’ notice of removal by the Clarksburg Water Board if not an emergency.
The Clarksburg Water Board may discontinue service after giving any required notice to any customer for theft of water or the appearance of theft devices on the premises of the customer. The Clarksburg Water Board may resume service with a reasonable bond or security deposit. No person may operate the water shutoff valve in the meter well without expressed permission of the Clarksburg Water Board. In an emergency, licensed plumbers, with permission of Clarksburg Water Board, may operate the Clarksburg Water Board’s shutoff valve with the proper tools in an emergency situation. If the Clarksburg Water Board must remove any obstruction referred to here, the customer will pay all expenses.
