(a) Upon receipt of an application for a license, the Director of Finance shall cause an investigation to be made of the applicant’s business and moral character. In carrying out such investigation, the Director of Finance shall consult with the Chief of Police.
(b) If, as a result of such investigation, the applicant’s character or business responsibility is found to be unsatisfactory, the Director of Finance shall deny the application and refuse the issuance of the license. If, as a result of such investigation, the applicant’s character or business responsibility is found to be satisfactory, the Director of Finance shall issue a license to the applicant for carrying on the business as indicated, upon and after the payment of the license fees set forth in this article. (c) A decision by the Director of Finance under this section shall be made within two business days. (Ord. 02-7. Passed 4-4-02.)
