2.20.020   Certificate of nomination.
   Candidates for municipal office may be nominated in the following manner:
   A.   A certificate of nomination containing the name of the candidate for the office is to be filed with the city clerk with such information as is required in Section 2.20.030, must be signed by the electors residing within the political subdivision in and for which the officer or officers are to be elected in the following required numbers:
   The number of signatures must not be less in number than five percent of the number of votes cast for the successful candidate for the same office at the next preceeding election; but the signatures need not be appended to one paper.
   B.   Each elector signing the certificate shall add to his signature his place of residence, his business and his business address. Any such certificate may be filed as provided for in Section 2.20.030.
