153.02 OFFICER IN CHARGE.

The City Jail shall be under the charge of the Chief of Police, as superintendent thereof and all writs or orders for holding or discharging any person, in, or from the jail shall be directed to, and executed by the Chief of Police, unless he be necessarily absent, in which case such duty and other duties shall be performed by a police officer as the Chief shall designate.
