911.05 PRIVATE DISPOSAL SYSTEMS; CONNECTION TO PUBLIC SEWER REQUIRED.
   (a)    Where a public sanitary sewer is not available, the building sewer may be connected to a private sewage disposal system complying with the requirements of the City and State Boards of Health. Availability is defined as the source being within 200 feet of the public sanitary sewer.
   (b)    At such time as a public sanitary sewer becomes available to a property served by a private sewage disposal system, a direct connection shall be made to the public sewer in compliance with this chapter within two years after the completion of construction of such sewer, and any septic tanks, cesspools or other sewage or wastewater treatment facilities shall be abandoned or, if within 1,000 feet of the public sewer line, the effluent from such be discharged directly to the public sewer line in a manner acceptable to and approved in writing by the Chillicothe Utilities Director.
   (c)    The owner shall operate and maintain private waste water treatment facilities in a sanitary manner at all times, at no expense to the City.
   (d)    No statement contained in this chapter shall be construed to interfere with any requfrements that may be imposed by the State or City Health Departments.
