(a) The position of Fleet Manager is an appointed, nonclassified position and is under the direct supervision of the Transit Director and shall serve at the pleasure of the Mayor.
(b) The Fleet Manager provides total fleet management service to allow other City departments and divisions to operate equipment in a cost-effective manner; supervises personnel and budget for operations and maintenance; assists with development of short and long-range maintenance programs and performs other duties as assigned by the Mayor.
(c) The salary for the Fleet Manager shall be an amount fixed by the Mayor and approved by Council. The Manger shall be entitled to all fringe and non-economic benefits available by law to unclassified employees and shall receive pension pick-up.
