118.01 OFFICE OF CITY TREASURER.
   (a)   Salary and Bond. The Treasurer for the City of Chillicothe shall be paid an annual salary of $12,405.16, beginning January 1, 2022. The annual salary for the Treasurer shall be increased by one and seventy-five hundredths percent (1.75%) (Cola increase) per year. Such salary shall be paid in bi-weekly installments. The City Treasurer shall furnish bond in the sum of twenty thousand dollars ($20,000).

   (b)   Treasurer's Clerk. There is established the position of Treasurer's Clerk in the unclassified service, and such Clerk shall be appointed by and shall serve at the pleasure of the City Treasurer. The Treasurer's Clerk shall be paid biweekly under the hours authorized and at the hourly rate set out in Section 15.18 of Ordinance 81-59 as amended.
   When the City Treasurer is out of town or sick and therefore is unable to perform his duties, the Treasurer's Clerk is authorized to sign City checks.
 
   (c)   Deputy Treasurer. There is established the position of Deputy Treasurer, the sole function of which is to sign checks or financial documents in the absence of the City Treasurer and/or the Treasurer’s Clerk. The Deputy Treasurer position shall be held by the current Chairperson of the City Council Finance Committee. The Deputy Treasurer Position is an unpaid position. The Deputy Treasurer is authorized to sign City checks and financial documents at the request of the City Auditor in situations wherein the City Treasurer is unavailable to sign said checks or financial documents and a signature deadline exists.
