7-1-6: ENCROACHMENTS AND OBSTRUCTIONS:
   A.   Obstructions Prohibited: It is unlawful for any person to cause, create or maintain any obstruction of any street, alley, sidewalk or other public way, except as may be specifically authorized by ordinance or by the commissioner of streets and public improvements when necessary in an emergency or in connection with any lawful construction, repair or removal work.       1.   This shall specifically include such obstruction by the parking or usage of vehicles and equipment, including outdoor grills and related paraphernalia on sidewalks and public ways.
      2.   Violation of subsection A1 of this section shall subject the violator to a fine pursuant to section 1-4-1 of this code, and which shall not be less than seventy five dollars ($75.00) for a first violation. (Ord. 492, 4-11-2005)
   B.   Poles Or Wires: It is unlawful to erect or maintain any poles or wires on or over any public street, alley or other public way without having first secured permission from the city council. Any utility pole placed along the street shall be set at least two feet (2') from the curb line and any tile or cable damaged by setting the pole shall be repaired by the utility and at their expense.
