A. Animals: It is unlawful to permit any cattle, horses, swine, sheep, goats or poultry to run at large in the city. Any such animals running at large in any public place in the city shall be impounded in the manner provided in section 5-1-6 of this chapter. It is further unlawful to picket or tie any such animal in any of the streets of the city for the purpose of grazing or feeding. (1964 Code § 396)
B. Dogs:
1. It is unlawful to permit any dog to run at large in the city at any time. Dogs which are on any street, alley, sidewalk or other public place without being held securely on a leash shall be deemed to be running at large.
2. Dogs which are running at large shall be captured and impounded by the city police department. (1964 Code § 402; amd. Ord. 184, 1982)
3. In addition to capture and impoundment of animals, violation of this section shall subject the violator to the general penalty ordinance of the city of Chenoa, title 1, chapter 4 of this code, or, if the city issues resolutions from time to time regarding fines for violation thereof, such violation shall be subject to the then current provisions of such resolution.
