The Economic Development Advisory Board shall include within its various duties the following:
(1) To develop a long-term plan for economic growth in the city;
(2) To plan and promote economic development specifically for the Sam Combs Industrial Park;
(3) To plan and promote economic development generally within the corporate limits of the city;
(4) To develop plans for reserving, retaining and improving existing business and industry within the corporate limits of the city;
(5) To coordinate economic development with the various community groups throughout the city;
(6) To report periodically to the City Council recommendations in accordance with the above duties;
(7) To assume such other duties as the City Council shall from time to time assign to it consistent with the purposes of the Economic Development Advisory Board;
(8) Any regulatory issues related to economic development, including, but not limited to amendments to: sign, zoning, nuisance, and licensing ordinances;
(9) Utility extensions related to economic development;
(10) All industrial park lot sales;
(11) Any industrial development variances that come before the Zoning Board of Appeals;
(12) Any existing or proposed industrial property annexations;
(13) Serve in an advisory capacity to other city boards and commissions such as the Planning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals, local development finance authority, and downtown development authority by allocating 1 member of the Economic Development Advisory Board to serve on these boards.
