149.18 BEREAVEMENT LEAVE.
   All full-time employees may granted paid time off, but not to exceed five (5) days, for the death of the employee’s:
Spouse      Father         Grandparents         Grandparents-in-law
Child      Brother      Mother-in-law
Mother      Sister         Father-in-law
   Bereavement leave is subject to approval by the department head and the Mayor. Upon request, under appropriate conditions, the Chief Administrative Officer or the Mayor may grant additional bereavement leave days beyond five (5). Bereavement leave is not deducted from the employee’s accumulated sick leave.
   Paid time is determined by multiplying the hourly equivalent rate in effect by the scheduled number of hours in the employee’s regular work day. Paid time is calculated from the time the leave begins. (Ord. 2023-57. Passed 10-23-23.)
