6.06.010 Regulations.
   A.   For the purposes of this section, “fowl” means a cock or hen of the domestic chicken.
   B.   A resident of a single-family detached residence may keep up to a maximum of six fowl in the backyard of the property, provided that the following conditions are met:
   1.   No male fowl, including roosters, shall be kept.
   2.   All fowl shall be kept in an enclosure located in the rear or side yard of the property that is setback at least twenty feet from neighboring properties. The size of the enclosure shall be a maximum of two hundred square feet and shall have a height that does not exceed eight feet, except for enclosures that are in a residential community on a lot less than one acre where the height of the enclosure shall not exceed the height of the fence line of the property.
   3.   The enclosure shall be maintained and manure picked up and disposed of or composted at least twice weekly.
   4.   Any composted manure shall be kept in a way that prevents migration of insects.
   5.   All water sources for fowls shall have adequate overflow drainage.
   6.   All feed for fowls shall be stored in insect-proof and rodent-proof containers.
   7.   All fowl are prohibited from running at large.
   C.   Nothing herein shall limit the permitted uses set forth in Table 17.16.030A.

6.06.020 Enforcement.
   Any animal control officer, code enforcement officer, or police officer employed by the city may enforce any section of this chapter by seeking voluntary compliance, issuing notices of violation, and issuing civil complaints.

6.06.030 Violation; Penalty.
   A.   Any person who is found by the court to be in violation of any provision of this chapter shall be deemed responsible for a civil violation, unless otherwise designated in this chapter.
   B.   Upon the court finding a person responsible for a civil violation of this chapter, the court shall impose a fine in an amount not less than $100.00 nor more than $500.00 for each violation.
