§ 8-71 Compression Release Engine Brakes Prohibited.
   No vehicle operator shall, while located on any public street within the City's corporate limits, use compression release engine brakes or any mechanically similar braking system to stop or slow a vehicle if the same causes the vehicle's motor to emit a loud, cracking, backfiring, or staccato noise that either exceeds 85 dB when measured fifty (50) feet from the sound source or can be heard from a distance greater than one hundred (100) feet from the sound source.
