§ 8-8 Street Sign Standards.
   (a)   It is declared a requirement by all persons, corporations, organizations, or other legal entities dedicating streets with street signs to the City, or building streets with street signs for the City, or otherwise maintaining streets and street signs for the City to follow street sign standards set, in accordance with the applicable sign guidelines under the Indiana Manual for Uniform Traffic Control Devices, by the City Engineer.
   (b)   The City Engineer shall approve the signs, posts and brackets of all signs which are placed on City Streets. In the event a developer or other person dedicates a road or street to the City, all signs for same shall comply with this section. The City shall maintain and replace said signs, as necessary, after they have been dedicated to and accepted by the City.
   (c)   All City street signs that are already installed shall conform with the above standards, as applicable, by the earlier of the date on which such sign is replaced by the City or December 31, 2008. All newly installed City street signs shall conform with the above standards at the time of their installation.
   (d)   All street signs on rights-of-way dedicated to the City shall conform with the above standards before such rights-of- way are accepted by the City.
