§ 4-92 Grandfathered Individuals.
   (a)   Individuals who have performed work within the past five years (between the years 1987 and 1992) in a trade now requiring licensure by the City may be allowed to obtain a license without taking the examination (“grandfather status”). Each individual wishing to qualify for grandfather status shall present proof of work performed in the past five years, with references, to the License Review Board. It is the duty of the Board to justify the validity of the claims made by the individual seeking grandfather status, to review any public objections and to approve or deny the request.
   (b)   All requests for grandfather status must be made within 12 months from final approval of this section. A denial by the Board of anyone requesting grandfather status does not preclude that individual from requesting licensure by examination.
   (c)   Grandfather status will only be recognized by the City for construction within its jurisdiction.
