§ 2-176 Procedure for the Collection of Rewards in Criminal Investigations.
   (a)   Any person wishing to claim a reward offered by the City by or through its Metropolitan Police Department or other authorized agency, shall first prepare a written claim through said department, to the attention of the Chief of Police.

   (b)   The Chief of Police shall review the claim and determine whether or not the following criteria have been met:
      (1)   That the individual making the claim has in fact generated the information resulting in the arrest and conviction of a criminal in regards to that matter for which the reward was offered.
      (2)   That the individual arrested has been convicted and sentencing has occurred pursuant to said conviction.

   (c)   The Chief of Police shall forward the claim to the Controller for processing in accordance with I.C., 36-1-8-3, or to be paid out of such other budgetary line item in the Police budget as has been or may be established. (Ord. D-638, § 3, 2-05-90)
