§ 2-9.1 Settlement Authority of Corporation Counsel.
   (a)   Corporation Counsel for the City of Carmel shall have authority to settle lawsuits, notices of lawsuits, and written threats of lawsuits filed against the City pursuant to I.C., 34-13 on behalf of the City up to and including the sum of $25,000.
   (b)   All sums paid to settle such lawsuits, notices of lawsuits, and written threats of lawsuits referred to in subsection (a) above involving the City shall be paid from the General Fund, Line Item 584, of the Branch or Department budget out of which the settled lawsuit, notice of lawsuit, or written threat of a lawsuit arose, following the Council's appropriation of such funds as are necessary to pay such settlement sums.
