If any provisions of this chapter or the application thereof to any person is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect any other provision or application thereof which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to this end the provisions of this chapter are declared to be severable. Failure on the part of any persons who have reserved plots at this date to subscribe to perpetual care as provided herein shall cause said persons to lose their preference rights to said plot or plots.
