(1) It shall be unlawful for any person to any act forbidden or fail to perform any act required herein.
(2) The parent of any child and the guardian of any ward shall not authorize or knowingly permit any such child or ward to violate any of the provisions of this Article.
(3) These regulations applicable to bicycles shall apply whenever a bicycles is operated upon any public thoroughfare or public path set aside for the exclusive use of bicycles. (1962 Code, Section 11-14-1)
Every person residing in the municipality should register their bicycle with the City police Department. The purpose of registering bicycles is to afford the Police Department tracing capability for lost, stolen or found bicycles. (1962 Code, Section 11-14-2; Ord. 1979, 3-15-93)
(1) Upon receiving the registration information, it will be the responsibility of Police personnel to enter said information into the Police Department's in-house computer system in a timely manner. The registration is effective for the life of the bicycle or until the bicycle's ownership changes.
(2) The registration form will be provided by the Police Department and will include ownership and bicycle description information.
(3) The registration form shall be done in duplicate, and the bicycle's owner will be provided with the copy for their own records. (Ord. 1329, 5-20-74; Ord. 1979, 3-15-93)
