5-1-4: THROUGH STREET:
Broadway is hereby designated as a "through street" and motor vehicles shall come to a full stop before entering such "through street" except where such street is controlled by a mechanical traffic device or upon order of an authorized officer. (1974 Code § 7-105)
5-1-5: DEFECTIVE BED:
No motor vehicle shall be used on a street for the transportation of any material when the bed of such vehicle is defective or when such material is so loaded as to allow the material to be spilled on the street. (1974 Code § 7-106)
5-1-6: OPERATION OF VEHICLES ON STREETS OR ALLEYS CLOSED FOR CONSTRUCTION OR REPAIR:
No person shall drive or operate a vehicle upon any portion of any street or alley within the City that is being constructed or repaired when access thereto shall have been blocked by barriers set up and established by the City or a person engaged in performing such work on its behalf. 5-1-7: INJURY TO PAVEMENT; LUG WHEELS:
It shall be unlawful for any person to drive or operate a motor vehicle on or across any paved street within the City when such vehicle has tires so constructed or in such condition as to injure the pavement; provided, that nothing herein contained shall be deemed to prohibit the use of antiskid chains or rubber tires attached to the wheels of motor vehicles. 5-1-8: GARAGE KEEPER TO REPORT DAMAGED VEHICLES:
The person in charge of any garage or repair shop to which is brought any motor vehicle which shows evidence of having been involved in an accident or struck by any bullet shall report to the nearest police station or Sheriff's Office within twenty four (24) hours after such motor vehicle is received, giving the engine number, registration number and the name and address of the owner or operator of such vehicle. 5-1-9: PUBLIC EMPLOYEES TO OBEY TRAFFIC REGULATIONS:
The provisions of this chapter shall apply to the driver of any vehicle owned by or used in the service of the United States government, this State, County, or the City, and it shall be unlawful for any said driver to violate any of the provisions of this chapter, except as otherwise permitted in this chapter or by State Statute. 5-1-10: TRUCK ROUTES:
   A.   Designated: The City is authorized to designate a route for the traffic of heavy trucks, the destination of which is outside the City limits. The route is hereby designated to commence at the southeast corner of the City limits at the intersection of Broadway and Burley Avenue, thence west on Burley Avenue to its intersection with the County road running on the west boundary of the City and called the Fruitland Road, thence north on said Fruitland Road to the point where said Fruitland Road intersects with Highway 30 and Broadway. This road shall be used for heavy vehicular traffic into, through, and out of the City, and such vehicles shall not travel upon other streets of the City unless their destination requires it.    B.   Violation; Penalty: Any person who shall violate any provision of this section shall be guilty of an infraction and, upon conviction thereof, shall be subject to penalty as provided in section 1-4-1 of this Code. (Ord. 991, 10-11-2018)
