GENERAL PROVISIONS
§ 96.01 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purposes of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   PARK TREES. Trees, shrubs and all other woody vegetation in public parks having individual names, and all areas owned by the Town, or to which the public has free access as a park.
   STREET TREES. Trees, shrubs and all other woody vegetation on land lying between property lines on either side of all streets, avenues, or ways within the Town.

§ 96.02 PURPOSE; INTENT.
   It is the purpose of this chapter to preserve, protect and promote the health, safety and general welfare of the public by providing for the regulation of the planting, maintenance and removal of trees located within the public right-of-way, parks and public areas owned or controlled by the Town.
