No alterations, additions or extensions shall be made in any electric installation without first obtaining a permit from the City and submitting the same for inspection in the same manner as provided for new work.
The Electrical Inspector is authorized to refuse to issue a permit for any addition or extension to any wiring system in an unsafe condition. After a permit is issued, if for any reason the work covered by the permit or any old work in the building not covered by the permit is found to be in an unsafe condition, the Electrical Inspector may refuse to issue a certificate of approval.
No owner or occupant of any building and no electric light and power company shall have connections made or connect to any building without having such certificate of approval or written permission from the Electrical Inspector. If additions and alterations have been made to an installation already connected within a building, the owner or occupant of such building and the electric light and power company shall disconnect their service immediately upon notice to do so.
