No person, society, club, firm or corporation shall operate a billiard room or harbor or permit any person or persons to be or remain in any such billiard room any day of the week between the hours of 2:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m., except on Sunday, when any such billiard room may be open for business only between the hours of 12:01 a.m. and 2:30 a.m., and 12:00 noon and 2:30 a.m. of the following day. However, no such person, society, club, firm or corporation operating a billiard room shall harbor or permit any child under the age of eighteen years to be or remain in any such billiard room after the hour of 12:00 midnight any day of the week, unless such child is accompanied by his or her parent, guardian or other adult person having the control and custody of such child. This section shall not be construed to prevent regular employees from performing necessary work within the premises.
