153.21 FUNERAL LEAVE BENEFITS.
   (a)   A full-time employee, who does not enjoy funeral leave benefits through union contract, shall be granted funeral leave benefits with pay, not to be charged against sick leave in the event of the death of:
      Spouse
      Children
      Parents
      Parents-in-law
      Siblings
      Stepchildren
      Grandparents
      Legal guardians
      Brothers-in-law
      Sisters-in-law

   (b)   To qualify for funeral leave benefits, the employee shall attend the funeral and shall notify his department head before taking such leave. Failure to do so, or misrepresentation of the facts relating to the funeral, shall be grounds to deny payment.
   (c)   Payment for funeral leave shall be computed as follows:
      (1)   If funeral is held within 400 miles of the City; paid for twenty-four working hours.
      (2)   If funeral is held over 400 miles of the City; paid for forty working hours.
