Section 10.2. Charter Review Commission.
In January 2029 and every sixth year thereafter, a Charter Review Commission consisting of nine electors of the City holding no other salaried office of, employment by or appointment by the City shall be appointed. The Charter Review Commission shall comprise two members appointed by the mayor at the organization meeting provided for in Section 3.6, and one member appointed by each member of Council at the organization meeting. All appointees to the Commission shall have been residents of the City for at least three years prior to their appointment. Any vacancy on the Commission shall be filled by the official holding the same office as the official who made the original appointment. The Commission shall review and recommend to Council not less than ninety days prior to the next November election any alterations, revisions, and amendments to this Charter as in its judgment seem advisable. Council may submit to the electors any such proposed alterations, revisions or amendments to the charter at the next regular November election, subject to the provisions of Section 10.1(a). The Charter Review Commission shall cease to function on the day of the November election following its institution. The members shall serve without compensation unless otherwise provided by Council.
