(a) General Definitions. Unless the context otherwise requires, the following definitions shall be used in the interpretation and construction of this Zoning Code. The following shall apply:
(1) Words used in the present tense include the future.
(2) A singular number shall include the plural number, and the plural the singular.
(3) The word "building" shall include the word "structure."
(4) The word "used" shall include arranged, designed, constructed, altered, converted, rented, leased, or intended to be used.
(5) The masculine shall include the female and non-binary, and vice versa.
(6) The word "shall" is mandatory and not directory.
(b) Undefined Words. If a word is not defined in this Code, the definition of a word is the commonly accepted definition.
