(a) The operator of any large retail establishment that is open to the public for business in the City is required to provide for the presence of a loss prevention officer as set forth in this section.
(1) If the large retail establishment has a total gross floor area of between 30,000 and 55,000 square feet, it shall provide a loss prevention officer for a minimum of eight hours per week.
(2) If the large retail establishment has a total gross floor area of between 55,001 and 75,000 square feet, it shall provide a loss prevention officer for a minimum of sixteen hours per week.
(3) If the large retail establishment has a total gross floor area of between 75,001 and 85,000 square feet, it shall provide a loss prevention officer for a minimum of twenty-four hours per week.
(4) If the large retail establishment has a total gross floor area of between 85,001 and 110,000 square feet, it shall provide a loss prevention officer for a minimum of thirty-two hours per week.
(5) If the large retail establishment has a total gross floor area of between 110,001 and 130,000 square feet, it shall provide a loss prevention officer for a minimum of forty hours per week.
(6) If the large retail establishment has a total gross floor area of between at least 130,001 square feet, it shall provide a loss prevention officer for a minimum of eighty hours per week, unless it is open more than eighteen hours per day, in which case it shall provide a loss prevention officer for a minimum of 120 hours per week.
(b) No large retail establishment shall fail to report incidents of theft or other violations of law to the City division of police.
(c) Any large retail establishment that is identified as a retail security issue location shall be required to provide for the presence of no fewer than one Ohio licensed security guard or one uniformed, off-duty sworn law enforcement officer during all business hours for ninety days following the final incident that resulted in its identification as a retail security issue location.
