149.02 HOLIDAYS.
   (a)   Each and every full-time employee of the City of Brooklyn, not covered by a bargaining unit, shall be granted the following paid holidays:
      (1)    New Year's Day;
      (2)    Martin Luther King Day;
      (3)    Presidents' Day (starting in 2001);
      (4)    Good Friday;
      (5)    Memorial Day;
      (6)   Juneteenth National Independence Day;
      (7)    July 4th;
      (8)    Labor Day;
      (9)    Columbus Day;
      (10)   Thanksgiving Day;
      (11)    Day after Thanksgiving Day;
      (12)    Veterans' Day;
      (13)    Christmas Day.
 
   (b)   Whenever it is necessary for an employee to work on a holiday, the employee shall be credited the equivalent compensatory time off, up to eight hours, to be taken at a time approved by the Mayor. Holidays off shall not be cumulative and shall be taken within the calendar year.
